The Lord convicted my heart a few years ago and I have a burden for the hurting. It only takes a moment to smile, say hello, compliment someone, or hold a door for someone. Especially as Christians, we should all be looking for opportunities. Isaiah 61:1 is not just a prophecy about our Lord Jesus Christ. "The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on ME, because the LORD has anointed ME to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent ME to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness the prisoners".
When I was in high school I was the Chief Editor for our school newspaper. One of the things I learned was that each article must contain the "four W's and one H rule". In other words, it must include five pieces of information in the first paragraph telling the reader the things he needs to know. Who the news article is about, What happened or is going to happen, When it happened or is going to happen, Where it happened or will happen, and How it happened or will happen.
We have been told and we know that Jesus Christ is coming again. 1 John 3:2 says, "Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is".
When is he appearing? Luke 21 gives us a pretty good idea when he will appear physically, but scripture shows us too, that until then He comes physically He will come a little at a time. "He must increase, but I must decrease". (John 3:30) Isaiah 28:13 says, "Precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little". This tells me that He is appearing more and more in me everyday as I yield myself to Him.
Where is he appearing? Malachi 3:1 "Suddenly the Lord you are seeking will come to his temple; the messenger of the covenant, whom you desire, will come," says the LORD Almighty".
What temple? 1 Corinthians 6:19 says, "Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you"?
Who are we talking about again? "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men". John 1:1-4
I encourage you to be that anointed one that Isaiah 61 speaks of. That one who will proclaim the good news, to bind up the brokenhearted, to show the captives, the hurting and lost, the way to freedom so that they can be released from the darkness they are in. Please, make it a point to practice the message of this video every day.
